WB Yeats Ferry
Minima was tasked with designing Irish Ferries’ new cruise ferry, the WB Yeats. The main condition was to avoid certain shades of green, which could induce seasickness in passengers. Helen Kilmartin, with a 20-year working relationship with Irish Ferries, visited sister cruise ships and shipyards during the design process.
The ship features a modern, continental design with dark colors and black accents. The Lady Gregory bar boasts a wave-like metal ceiling, and thoughtful lighting creates a soothing atmosphere. Luxury cabins offer comfort and sea views.
Irish Ferries worked with Danish naval architecture and marine engineering firm OSK-ShipTech on the interior architectural design, while Minima was responsible for the aesthetics of public areas and deluxe suites and re design of the A La carte Restaurant (The Lady Gregory), to include the ceiling designed and sourced by Helen Kilmartin.
